Hand polishing hasn’t change much in the last century apart from the introduction of linishing belts. Previously we used Bobs (round wheels with sand glued on). This was how things were when my father and Den learnt the art of metal polishing in the late 1950s at Walter Rowleys where there was said to be over 200 metal polishers employed at one time. Obviously most of them are no longer with us now but I thank all of them for the skills they passed on to me.
